About DAP Nagpur Heritage Building

The Office of the Director Accounts (Postal) popularly
 known as DAP,Nagpur is an imposing edifice built
in the Georgian style of architecture. It stands centrally
on the Akashvani square of Nagpur with the Collector
Office and District Court being its immediate neighbours.
This office has the honour of being associated with many
stellar names,one luminary being the nobel laureate,
Dr Sir C.V.Raman, who worked here as the Deputy
Accountant General. This office serves as The pay &
Accounts Office of Maharastra Circle which includes
Goa and also for the entire Army Postal Service Corps.

     This office is housed in this heritage building
spread over 5.45 Acres of land. The construction of
the main building complex started during 1916-1917.
The building roof consists of Teakwood king post
trusses with purlin rafter construction, covered with
galvanised corrugated iron sheeets. The front
verandah is decorated with stilled arch and the
entrance of the building is an imposing georgian
post.
