The Office of the Director Accounts (Postal) popularly<br />
known as DAP,Nagpur is an imposing edifice built<br />
in the Georgian style of architecture. It stands centrally<br />
on the Akashvani square of Nagpur with the Collector<br />
Office and District Court being its immediate neighbours.<br />
This office has the honour of being associated with many<br />
stellar names,one luminary being the nobel laureate,<br />
Dr Sir C.V.Raman, who worked here as the Deputy<br />
Accountant General. This office serves as The pay & <br />
Accounts Office of Maharastra Circle which includes <br />
Goa and also for the entire Army Postal Service Corps.<br />

This office is housed in this heritage building<br />
spread over 5.45 Acres of land. The construction of<br />
the main building complex started during 1916-1917.<br />
The building roof consists of Teakwood king post <br />
trusses with purlin rafter construction, covered with<br />
galvanised corrugated iron sheeets. The front <br />
verandah is decorated with stilled arch and the <br />
entrance of the building is an imposing georgian <br />
post.<br />
